About the Event

Experience the harmony of chinese and western string instruments as the musicians of StringWerkz bring their distinct musical blend to The Music Circle’s Artistry.

The three huqin players and cellist will perform a range of works from traditional chinese pieces to Western classical and even Japanese Anime favourites, helping audiences better understand the similarities as well as differences between the music that evolved from various cultures.

The group aims to couple their modern sensibilities with their passion for their instruments, to make these instruments born out of ancient times relevant to audiences today.

This programme is suitable for the musically curious and families with children as the musicians share the different facets of their instruments while demonstrating the techniques used to bring them to life. The show is FREE but space is limited so get your tickets NOW!

Performers: (Wong Qin Kai – Gaohu; Chia Wan Hua – Erhu; Rozie Hoong – Zhonghu; Eunice Koh Kai’En – Cello)

About Artistry

As part of The Music Circle’s quest to build a community of music lovers, Artistry is a series of musical explorations featuring guest artists who are passionate about helping people to see or hear music, and the instruments that create music, in different ways. The activities take place in a casual setting as TMC invites artist and audience to be inspired and refreshed by the shared musical experience.

Artistry would not be possible without the generous support of all artists involved, and the National Arts Council.
