Despite the many challenges that came with COVID, we managed to have a TMC Adventures outing back in April! It was a great chance for the kids to experience Gamelan music live having learnt about it during their group lessons. Some parents came along too, making it an enriching family outing on a Saturday evening. The concert was held at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre and our kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We look forward to organising more TMC Adventures in the year ahead!

Our students learnt about Johannes Brahms’ music back in Term 3 so we were very happy to organise another Music Box event with Cherie Khor, Tee Tang Tong, Christoven Tan and Leslie Tan performing Brahms’ Piano Quartet no.1. ‘Basking in Brahms’ was an interactive concert hosted by Teachers Zephany and Gloria where students were able to interact with the musicians through picking tempos for them to play at and even experiment with dynamics! They also got to experience the music with different coloured stage light settings, which generated a great deal of excitement for the students.

I thoroughly enjoyed this chamber music performance of Brahms' Piano Quartet by TMC. Listening live to an excellent group of world class performers was certainly a treat for all who were present. A special thanks to the teachers at TMC who helped make the experience even more memorable for myself and my daughter Tiana. The whole programme was very well thought out right from the mysterious introduction, fun quiz questions and the entertaining pairing of coloured lights with music. The children had an entertaining learning experience and were kept engaged throughout the performance which in my opinion is a wonderful method in the education and appreciation of music. Well done and thank you TMC.
